Ugly Duckling Mini Sponges are replacement nail art sponges designed to pair with the Ugly Duckling Sponge Tool for controlled aura, ombré, gradient and blended nail art techniques.

Their small size makes it easy to work precisely on the nail, allowing you to build and diffuse colour exactly where you want it without wrestling with a full-size cosmetic sponge.

Use them with the new Ugly Duckling Artist Palettes, gel colour and other compatible nail art products to create soft blends, concentrated aura effects and seamless colour transitions.

150 mini sponges per pack.

Pro Tips for Application

Less is more. Start with a very small amount of product on the sponge. Solid cream ombré gels generally blend more smoothly when colour is built gradually rather than loaded on heavily.

Tap, don't smear. Use light tapping motions to diffuse the colour and soften the edges of an aura or gradient.

Control the pressure. Lighter tapping creates softer diffusion; increasing the pressure or number of passes builds colour intensity.

Use a clean sponge for major colour changes. This prevents muddy colours and keeps your gradients crisp.

For aura nails: Concentrate your first taps where you want the strongest colour, then use lighter pressure as you move outward.

For ombré: Work in thin layers and gradually overlap your colours instead of trying to create the entire fade in one application.

Don't overload the sponge. Too much gel can create texture or transfer an obvious sponge pattern instead of a soft blend.

Clean the metal gripping area between uses and follow your normal salon sanitation procedures for reusable implements.

Pair it with the Artist Palettes. This is exactly where I think this tool earns its keep: controlled pickup of those solid cream gels followed by soft sponge application.
