I find after a week or so, the top coat starts to peel off.

hey Debbie! So sorry you are having troubles. Typically when a top coat peels its one of a few things. If it's being applied over a tack free gel paint, the surface is often too shiny for the top coat to properly 'attach', not every top can be applied over a shiny surface. In some cases the top coat isn't loving the gel polish it has been put over, there are a few out there thst just don't do well together. Usually if the gel polish or coloured gel has a thick sticky layer, this should be removed before the top coat is applied. And last, if you are applying tack free tops over a simple gel polish manicure (no structure) Sometimes the top coat doesn't have enough flex, so the nail will bend, the top coat cracks and then proceed to peel or chip away. try curing it a little longer and see if that helps.
